Adventure and exploration are at the heart of our family. Mountain Mama was created to share that passion with other families.

Hi! I’m RyAnn, mom to 4 amazing kids. Two beautiful daughters, an energetic teenage son, and my little “tornado”. Life is never dull. Although my older children are busy pursuing their individual passions, our family enjoys getting outside together as much as we can and exploring the Pacific North West, which we are lucky to call home. Whether that is hiking a trail, climbing at a local crag, or driving to a tourist town to try new food.

On days we are not loading the car with gear of all varities, the youngest and I can be found in our home attempting to do something like school, in the garden investigating, or running around the yard imagining we are rowdy pirates. I invite you join along in our advenures, explorations, and my attempt at homeschooling our “tornado”.

The name “Mountain Mama” came from the suggestions of my children. When I decided to start writing about our adventures I asked my family for help in creating the name and look of this blog. I was afraid the name was too simple or similar to others, but my daughters were adamant that I leave it. They said that is who I am, after all, a proud, loving mama, who feels most at home in the mountains.

So I’m taking the many things I’ve learned over the years, and hope to share those tips and tricks to inform, inspire and connect with other families to get outside. I invite you join along in our advenures, explorations, and my attempt at homeschooling our “tornado”.
