Backpacking on the Cape

June 13, 2018

Warm weather has finally come to the PNW, and to help welcome the sun we decided to head out on a little backpacking trip. Some of the best hiking here can be found along the beautiful Pacific coast. It has easy trails, with a great reward and perfect playground waiting at the end. When you … More Backpacking on the Cape

Overnight at the Snowbowl

January 18, 2018

With so many options of outdoor activities here in Washington, how does a family decide to start the Holiday season? There is a hike along the I-90 corridor with classics like Mt. Si or Franklin Falls. A day on fresh pow at one of the ski resorts. Sledding or tubing followed by hot chocolate. All … More Overnight at the Snowbowl

Terrible Twos on the Trails

December 21, 2017

I started hiking with my three older kids when they were well past diapers and temper tantrums. As long as we had red vines and chocolate everyone was happy to wander through the woods. We counted tree rings and learned which berries were edible. There were always reminders to stay on trail, and not cut … More Terrible Twos on the Trails

Getting ready to crush some goals this year 💪🏻
Life sure is a wild ride! There is no way 18 years ago when I first held this one that I would have thought we would be skiing together on our college spring break. I haven’t necessarily enjoyed all that life has thrown at me, but there have been some wonderful lessons and beautiful memories along the way🤍
Always trying to catch air
I kinda wish we didn’t have to come home
Today I skied a black diamond. It was not graceful, and involved a few falls. But today I skied a black diamond
Today was one of those long, slow Saturday’s that you savor. A beautiful walk looking for birds and watching local artists paint. A picnic on a grassy spot warmed by the sun. Conversation filled with questions and wonder. Topped off with favorite foods and sleepy cuddles. These are the days that deep deep within our souls
This boys smile and his even bigger heart gets me every time. His patience, tenderness, and fantastic laugh make him so fun to hang out with. He’s a great big and little brother.
Today is International Women’s Day! What a perfect opportunity to say thank you to all the women who inspire, teach and encourage me every day! I am beyond thankful for the impact each one of you have made💙
We might be related. Making the best of times with coffee and parking lot hangs.
