Mini Mountaineer Mover

June 17, 2018

So it has been a little bit since my mom and dad got off their butts and took me outside camping in the woods. Ok not really, but at least a bigger, funner and exciting trip. So dad has been in the garage a lot lately working on some super, secret project. He wont let … More Mini Mountaineer Mover

Samuel’s Corner: Warm in Winter

February 16, 2018

Not sure that mom knows it is cold for me today.   I mean there is smoke coming from her head as she walks with me on her back.  But I can see nothing but the white trees and a fluffy snow covered trail and I am burrrrry.   All of the sudden she stops, takes me … More Samuel’s Corner: Warm in Winter

Samuel’s Corner: Get Outside

November 2, 2017

Hello, my name is Samuel and I am a mountaineer…well more so a mini-mountaineer as I am only 2 years old.   My mom and dad have been taking me out in the wild since I was very little. My first backpacking trip at 6 months old.  Now some of you might think that is crazy, but my … More Samuel’s Corner: Get Outside

Just another day hanging around at work!
Some days school is as simple as reading a book, asking “I wonder” questions and playing a game. Add in a points system, tally marks and some addition, math done ✔️
Every day is a day worth celebrating with you! Love you my mountain man 🗻🤍
Spending time outside moving our bodies and sharing one of our favorite things always brings a smile to my face. I can never get enough of days like this ☀️
Remembering to be thankful every day for the life I have been given and the people I get to share it with ☀️
I’m always a little behind these days. Always coming and going. But in the midst of it all Dad and I got to get away to visit family and soak in a little Southern California sun and salt air.
In the last 6 days I’ve spent 3 of those in the mountains with these two. That’s a ratio I hope to keep up this winter!
Life goes by way too fast, but it’s been a beautiful year ✨
We checked off one more WA state park before the end of the year! Riverside SP in Spokane was beautiful in a blanket of snow, and so worth the stop on the way home. It’s days like these that I’m reminded why it’s so important to slow down, take the detour and say yes to being curious ✨
